Our Training Philosophy

Our mission at Kelly Coyne Dressage is to educate both horses and riders in the art of classical dressage and to create an effective, strong partnership while rewarding mastery of the concepts and having fun. The training program at Kelly Coyne Dressage places an emphasis on correctness, breaking large concepts into smaller goals, rewarding both horse and rider for demonstrating understanding of those concepts and balancing hard work in the arena with building deeper connections between horse and rider outside of it.

Our Trainers

Kelly Coyne

Cassandra Falardeau

Assistant Dressage Trainer

Cassandra Falardeau, a Southern California native, is an accomplished hunter and jumper rider who transitioned to the sport of dressage after trying and falling in love with the details and technicalities of it.

As the Assistant Trainer in our program, she focuses on starting our young horses correctly, building confidence, and training horses who have experienced great success in other disciplines in the foundations of dressage. Cassandra is also our young rider instructor, instilling solid classical horsemanship principles from the beginning to allow for a successful riding career.

Dressage Training

Classical dressage helps build a strong foundation for all types of riding through the development of clear communication, correct movement, strength, endurance, and balance in both the horse and the rider.

Horsemanship

Horsemanship, trust, and the relationship between horse and rider are critical to an effective partnership and realizing success in and out of the saddle.
